NATO has “implemented the biggest reinforcement of collective defence” against Russia “since the end of the Cold War”, according to the organisation’s Secretary-General. Speaking at a news conference in Brussels on Thursday, Jens Stoltenberg said that a “more assertive Russia” had led the military alliance to increase their presence in eastern Europe.
