In Canada, more than four in 10 women have reported some kind of abuse in their intimate partner relationship. In York Region, there’s an agency dedicated to helping. But as Caryn Lieberman reports, despite the growing need for its services, the York Region Centre for community safety says it’s struggling to keep its doors open due to a lack of funding.
