Heading back to school can be a stressful time for many families, but for kids with complex needs, there can be even more anxiety. The school bus experience event hosted by Resources for Exceptional Children and Youth in Oshawa on Tuesday aimed to make the transition easier. The non-profit in Durham Region invited families with children who use mobility devices or have other diverse needs to check out a school bus and practice getting on and off. Kids had the chance to get more familiar with different noises and routes. Resources is hoping this will encourage communities to be more inclusive.
