Halifax council votes to ask province for more info on ‘strong mayor powers’

After a lengthy and heated debate at Halifax Regional Council, councillors and the mayor voted in favour of a motion asking the province for more information about “strong mayor powers.” While a majority of council expressed opposition to the powers coming in, they did agree that more information was needed.
