Nearly four decades after the Reform Party adopted the slogan “The West Wants In,” Albertans continue to express discontent with the state of federal politics and the province’s role in Confederation. Following the 2025 election, Premier Danielle Smith has also expressed that anger against Ottawa. Now, she’s calling for the Prime Minister Mark Carney to reset the relationship.
