Israel is preventing thousands of Palestinians from returning home to northern Gaza, accusing Hamas of violating the terms of the ceasefire deal after the militant group failed to release an Israeli civilian as planned. Lebanese officials said Israel’s army opened fire on protesters on the day its forces were due to leave Lebanon. Caryn Lieberman reports on the fragile truce on two fronts.
