Ontario Premier Doug Ford confirmed Friday he is dropping the writ next Wednesday, sending voters to the polls by the end of the month. Ford says he’s seeking a stronger mandate to tackle U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threat. Trump’s repeated comments have reignited a movement to reduce our reliance on the U.S. by knocking down inter-provincial barriers. Plus, there is less than 50 days left in the campaign to replace Liberal leader. And finally, Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel won’t be withdrawing troops from Lebanon on Sunday, putting the ceasefire agreed upon in November on shaky ground.
