The good news is that they’re still talking but there is no indication that Air Canada and its pilot’s union are any closer to striking a deal. Precious hours are ticking away before a midnight deadline when either side can trigger a grounding of flights. The federal government has indicated that it doesn’t want to step in and as Mark Carcasole tells us, thousands of passengers could be left in the lurch. There are calls for Canada’s auditor general to investigate a federal program meant to support Indigenous businesses. The Indigenous Procurement Program hands out roughly $1.6 billion of federal work every year. But a Global News investigation in partnership with First Nations University found loopholes that allow non-Indigenous company’s to access that money. Melissa Ridgen has more.
