Speaking in Toronto on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland defended Canada’s defence spending. She said out of 32 NATO member countries, Canada ranks seventh as the ‘biggest’ defence spender, adding “we’re a major contributor to our defence and to the defence of our allies.”
