Going into the weekend there were high hopes for a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas as negotiations showed some sign of progress in Cairo, Egypt. Now, both sides are at an impasse. The Hamas delegation left Cairo Sunday after accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging peace talks one that Netanyahu says is the reverse and any permanent ceasefire deal for hostages would allow Hamas to regroup and reoffend.
