Meanwhile, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has cleared a Toronto police officer who shot at a fleeing SUV in North York last year. The officer’s actions were deemed as self-defence, as officials say the SUV was driving towards him after being involved in an armed robbery in Scarborough.
