Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal on Monday apologized for what he says was “intemperate language” during the April 2 council committee meeting.
Leal reportedly said to Coun. Alex Bierk that he would “carve him like a Thanksgiving turkey” during an off-microphone remark.
Leal also uttered “you’ll regret you ever said that,” after Bierk referenced the mayor’s wife during discussion of halting construction of pickleball courts at Bonnerworth Park.
In his statement read aloud, Leal said he regrets the way “in which I chose to respond.”
