Electricity demand hit record levels Friday in B.C.

Peak hourly electricity demand reached more than 11,300 megawatts on Friday night, breaking the previous record of more than 10,970 in December 2022. BC Hydro also said despite the record-breaking demand, the province had enough to support Alberta and the Pacific Northwest.
