Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said in the House of Commons on Thursday that Conservatives have “failed to understand” that provincial and business leaders across Canada were working to protect the next generation from climate change. NDP MP Taylor Bachrach later challenged Guilbeault, saying that fossil fuel emissions were rising across Canada and that an emissions cap with a 2026 implementation date is “far too slow.”
