A Victoria forensics officer, who was taking photos at the scene of a stabbing, had to fight off a man who attacked him with a skateboard.

Victoria police said at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, the officer was on foot in Banfield Park when he was "violently attacked" by an unknown man.
