Canada was one of 35 countries that abstained from a vote at the United Nations that saw more than 100 states condemn the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to move the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Trump threatened to cut off financial aid to countries that vote in favor of a draft United Nations resolution against his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
