Quebec's Leylah Fernandez and Felix Auger-Aliassime reached their first Grand Slam semi-finals in contrasting style in New York on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old from Laval, Que., advanced to the quarterfinals of the women's draw with a hard-fought three-set win over former champion Angelique Kerber.
