Dozens of volunteers were planting trees in a southwest Calgary city park on Saturday. The annual event has seen more than 550,000 trees planted across Canada since 2010.

The trees planted included eastern white cedar, Freeman maple, ninebark, fragrant sumac, serviceberry, staghorn sumac, grey dogwood and black chokeberry.
