The arena, built in 1968, was originally called the Saint-Laurent arena. It was later renamed after the former Boston Bruins captain in 1990. 

After a nearly perfect season, the entire LaurenHill Academy High School came to cheer on their team in the Greater Montreal Athletic Association Championship final against John Rennie High School.
