On its website, the City of Pointe-Claire said Tim Thomas's new role will soon be official with a swearing-in ceremony expected in the upcoming days. 

Tim Thomas has been elected mayor in Pointe-Claire, ousting incumbent candidate John Belvedere by only 61 votes.
