On Wednesday, the province announced it will pay parents whose children are affected by striking teachers.

The unions have been bargaining new collective agreements since the beginning of September.

The rallies are planned to take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at Conservative MPP constituency offices across Ontario.

The notwithstanding clause gives governments the ability to pass a law overriding parts of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms for a five year term.

Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association has announced they will stop all strike action now that a tentative deal has been reached with the province.
