Last month staff voted unanimously to move forward with a referendum as soon as this coming fall.

A flood in 2021 caused significant damage and with just two years left in the pool's planned lifespan the city decided repairing it would be too expensive with too little benefit. 

"It is a very large budget item," said Ric Bresee, mayor of Loyalist Township.
