The Delta variant currently makes up 12 per cent of variant cases in B.C., but has been doubling each week for the past few weeks.

As the province grapples with the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, health officials said the mortality rate of residents in long-term care homes is increasing week after week, with 71 deaths reported in the last seven days alone.

"The sacrifices people are making to stay home and wash their hands are making a difference," the report highlighted.
