Peter Dyakowski

Just starting his first football season up in the press box, Peter Dyakowski brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from an 11-year CFL career on the offensive line with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders.  As a professional athlete, Peter established a reputation as one of the best at his position, keeping quarterbacks protected and bulldozing a path for running backs.  At the same time, he was also fighting for the rights and working conditions of his teammates as a director of the CFL Players’ Association.  Peter continues to serve today on the board of directors of the CFLPA as Treasurer.  And while playing a decade with the Tiger-Cats, Peter gave back to Hamilton off the field wherever he could, actively supporting numerous charity and non-profit initiatives.  Peter now sits on the board of directors of the national injury prevention organization Parachute Canada.

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Peter was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll four times and subsequently won the first edition of the CBC television program “Canada’s Smartest Person”. Peter has appeared on other television programs including “Jeopardy!”, “Test the Nation”, “CFL on TSN”, “Off the Record”, “The Marilyn Denis Show”, “CP24 Breakfast”, and “Morning Live”.

Peter lives in Hamilton, Ontario, not too far from Tim Horton’s Field, with his wife, Rachel, and two daughters, Louise (7) and Helena (5), and still works out daily, even if it’s not his job anymore.
