The order was issued Saturday, "due to immediate danger to life and safety caused by a wildfire." Residents are urged to leave the area immediately under this evacuation order.

The BC Wildfire Service said the 11-hectare Hat Creek Road fire was burning about 10 kilometres south of the community and west of Highway 1.
