Construction on the site, located at the corner of Albert Street and Commissioner Street, is scheduled to begin in 2021 and be completed in 2024. 

The new super library was one of Mayor Jim Watson's major election promises in 2014. The Zibi brownfields grant is the largest the city has ever awarded in its history.
