James Cooper Morton, who pleaded guilty to the offences in April, has also been ordered to have no contact with Jennifer Packwood for six months.

Rhonda Shousterman, a justice of the peace at the Newmarket courthouse, delivered an emotional 20-minute victim impact statement at her husband James Morton’s sentencing hearing in the very courthouse where Shousterman sits on the bench.

James Cooper Morton stood up in a Newmarket courtroom on Friday and admitted he married Jennifer Packwood, a law clerk from the office where he worked in Hamilton, despite the fact he was still married to his wife, Justice of the Peace Rhonda Shousterman.
