An Ottawa police officer said one of the accused in the Jagtar Gill homicide came to the home as a concerned neighbour shortly after the incident.

The Court of Appeal found on Dec. 11 that the judge in the previous trial for the death of Jagtar Gill failed to give the jury proper instructions.

Bhupinderpal Gill and Gurpreet Ronald were found guilty in 2016 of first-degree murder in the death of Jagtar Gill, who was discovered beaten, stabbed and with her throat slashed in the family's home in 2014.
