The Kitsilano street was packed with food vendors, clothing sales, live music and people dancing in the street.

During the official opening ceremony Friday evening, dignitaries and visitors honoured 18-year-old Reese Fallon and 10-year-old Julianna Kozis, who were both killed in the shooting rampage on July 22, with a moment of silence.

About 700 people were expected to attend the annual event celebrating Greek culture.
