They're a last resort for desperate mothers: baby boxes where newborns are safely surrendered. But the charity advocating for them to be set up in fire halls is hitting obstacles.

Babies being abandoned in unsafe places and left to die is something that happens. It's why a police officer and a charity are partnering to keep newborns alive.

“It's a very bittersweet feeling of, ‘I wish none of this happened and I’d do anything to get her back,’ but that's not possible,” Racha said. “So the only way we can go about it is to do something good out of this.”
