The first of several scheduled protests opposing the G7 Summit around Quebec City was declared illegal earlier this morning and the city is bracing for a day of unrest, with at least three other demonstrations anticipated

Protestors have begun converging on the downtown core of Quebec City, lighting off fireworks and burning flags along the way.

Shop owners in Quebec City are battening down the hatches ahead of G7 protests scheduled for Thursday night but while there is caution, there seems to be little fear about what might come.
