Uwe Manfred Froeschle, 55, is accused of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon - after a shot was fired at an SPCA officer in Courtenay.

An incident in which an SPCA employee was shot at while attending a home prompted a massive police response, and local residents were told to shelter indoors for several hours.
