Ottawa emergency services said a small aircraft crashed at the Carp Airport shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

TSB investigators said on Tuesday that aircraft accidents like the one this past weekend are quite rare. Sunday’s plane crash marked the 10th mid-air collision in Canada in the past decade, they said.

Two aircraft collided in mid-air in Ottawa's west end on Sunday morning, with one of them crashing into a nearby field, Ottawa police said.
