A strong chinook hit southern Alberta with 160 km/h wind gusts and double-digit highs on Monday, but up to 15 centimetres of snow is expected on Tuesday.

Fire officials say preparing for the melt is a wise idea as they do expect to see flooding calls over the weekend.
