Midwives in Alberta will soon be able to provide greater care to expectant and new mothers, including prescribing and administering medications, inserting IUDs and performing ultrasounds.

Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Association of Midwives has come to an agreement the province says will increase the number of midwives practising in Alberta.
