TORONTO — British pop group One Direction will kick off the North American leg of its summer tour in Toronto.
On Tuesday, the quintet announced 21 shows starting with an Aug. 1 concert at the Rogers Centre and ending Oct. 5 in Miami.

The We Are tour dates are all in stadiums — a big step up from their previous tour.
There are no other Canadian dates scheduled but promoter Live Nation said additional dates will be announced.

One Direction — consisting of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson — just released its third album, Midnight Memories.
The group won two American Music Awards on Nov. 24, including Favourite Pop/Rock Group.
