WINNIPEG — Aurora, an 11-month-old orphaned polar bear that arrived at the Assiniboine Park Zoo in October, underwent dental surgery Tuesday morning.

The bruin had two broken teeth.
Dr. Chris Enright, head of veterinary services at the Winnipeg zoo, said it is a fairly routine procedure, but not all that common.
Aurora arrived at the zoo in October after she was found wandering alone near the Churchill airport.
