Edmonton – After starting the 2013-2014 season with the most difficult stretch of his NHL career, Devan Dubnyk has begun to bounce back, earning the NHL’s Third Star of the week.
Dubnyk picked a pair of wins last week, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .974 save percentage in helping the Edmonton Oilers extend their season-long winning streak to three games.
The 27-year-old posted his first shutout of the season in a 7-0 victory over the columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, November 19.
The Oilers netminder has appeared in 18 games this season, compiling a 6-10-1 record with a 3.17 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.
Pittsburgh Penguins forward, Evegeni Malkin was named the NHL’s First Star, recording eight points in four games.
Montreal Canadiens forward, Max Pacioretty was named the Second Star, leading all players with five goals.
