RCMP west of Edmonton are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near Acheson, Alta., on Monday morning.
Around 5:35 a.m., a collision was reported after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while crossing Highway 16, the RCMP said.

RCMP said the pedestrian was transported to hospital by a STARS Air Ambulance helicopter in serious condition.
Both eastbound lanes of Highway 16, west of Highway 60, were closed Monday morning while RCMP were investigating.

The collision scene had been cleared as of 9:50 a.m., RCMP said.
