Man killed in Richmond shooting, burned SUV found nearby: IHIT

A man is dead and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the scene in Richmond Thursday night.

Mounties were called to the scene near Minler and Blundell roads around 5:45 p.m.

Police say the man was found critically injured and, despite live-saving measures, he was pronounced dead.

Police confirm they attended a second scene in the 12000-block of Blundell Road about 10 minutes later for an SUV engulfed in flames.

Witnesses told Global News the incident has left them shaken.

Police say they are working to confirm if the two scenes are connected.

However, a burned-out vehicle is a hallmark of gang-style shootings across B.C.

Police are looking for witnesses and video from the 8000-block of Minler Road and the 12000-block of Blundell Road between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
