Fire crews wasted no time getting ahold of a wildfire that broke out south of Vernon near Ellison Provincial Park on Sunday.
According to a post on social media from the City of Vernon, firefighters on scene have confirmed the fire is being held, meaning it is not expected to grow any further.
The blaze was detected just before 1 p.m., and grew to roughly 1 hectare in size.
Crews are now building a fire guard around the perimeter of the fire.
Members of the BX Swan Lake Fire Department and Armstrong-Spallumcheen Fire Department have been released, while Vernon Fire Rescue Services remains on scene to assisnt BC Wildfire Service.
