A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Toronto, police say.
Toronto police said the incident occurred at around 6:22 p.m. on Thursday in the Steeles Avenue and Middlefield Road area.
Police said a pedestrian was struck and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Roads were closed in the area and officers asked motorists to use alternate routes.
