TORONTO – A woman in her 20s is fighting for her life in hospital after being rushed from the scene of a two alarm fire on Sheridan street near College Street and Dufferin Street.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene after receiving a call around 1:30 a.m. about smoke coming from the basement of the west-end Toronto residence.
A woman who wasn’t moving was pulled from the basement of the home.
Paramedics performed CPR at the scene before taking her to hospital.
More residents were forced to take shelter in a TTC bus until crews got the fire under control.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
