No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at the exterior of the Lindsay Square Mall in Lindsay, Ont., on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue district fire chief Dave Kish, crews around 1 p.m. responded to a fire in a dumpster behind Your Dollar Store With More, on the east-end of the mall on Kent Street West.
The fire prompted the evacuation of the mall.
Kish tells Global News that the fire originated in the dumpster and firefighters managed to contain the blaze to the exterior of the building. The fire was extinguished just before 2 p.m.
He says the store has sustained some water damage. Building damage with contents to the store is estimated at $200,000.

Kish says the mall should reopen on Wednesday morning.
“The store with the water damage may remain closed until clean up has been completed,” he said.
