Acadia University is kicking off its 175th anniversary celebrations today! We’ll talk to members of the Acadia Alumni Association and the Alumni Affairs office at 6:45 to find out more about the events being planned.

At 7:15, we’ll have a conversation about mental health services in Nova Scotia with Dr. Michael Teehan, the President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association.  He’ll share his thoughts on where the shortcomings are, and how those can be addressed.

There is a new campaign being rolled out across the country to raise awareness of, and support research into, women’s brain health.  Roughly 70% of new cases of Alzheimer’s will be women.  We’ll meet Lynn Posluns, the founder and national president of the Women’s Brain Health Initiative at 7:45.

The Nova Scotia Designer’s Craft Council is opening the doors to its annual Christmas Show today. At 8:15, we’ll meet the Executive Director of the NSDCC and artisan Al Simm of Avon River Metalworks, and we’ll get a lesson on making a rose from metal!

Poet and playwright George Elliott Clarke has been honoured for his novels and poetry for adults, but he’s just released his very first book of poetry for children. We’ll talk to him about Lasso the Wind at 8:45.
