A ridge of high pressure will move northeast from the southern United States over the next couple of days. As well, a deepening ridge of low pressure over northern Ontario is also tracking eastwards.
The two will cause strong west to southwest winds Wednesday night. Winds of 50 km/h with gusts of up to 80 km/h are forecast. Areas closer to Lake Ontario and Lake Erie may experience stronger gusts near 90 km/h.
