Hey, Global Glamourites!!
You’d have to be living under a rock if you didn’t know the Much Music Video Awards were on last night. All of Canada’s biggest stars showed up for the event: Nickelback, Simple Plan, Alexis on Fire, The Midway State and more. The Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, the Blackeyed Peas, Perez Hilton and some of the cast of Twilight also graced the MMVA stage.
The night was packed with performances and trophies rained. Nickleback picked up three awards including Best Video, Much Loud Rock Video and Best Post Production all for “Gotta be Somebody.” Newcomers The Midway State picked up two: Favourite New Artist and VideoFact Best Independent Video for “Never Again.” The Blackeyed Peas took Favourite International Video – Group and Lady GaGa took Best International Video – Artist.
Kelly Clarkson, Girlicious and the Blackeyed Peas put on stellar performances. The night was a high point for all involved.
But as the lights dimmed and the after parties began to wind down, drama ran rampid between Blackeyed Peas rapper Will.I.Am and popular gossip writer Perez Hilton.
Hilton claimed B.E.P. frontrapper Will.I.Am approached him at an after party and asked him not to write about them on his website. Will.I.Am was upset about things Hilton had written about the Peas latest record.
Things escalated when outside the club, Hilton disrespected Will.I.Am in a horrible way simply for the purpose of starting drama. Shortly after, he was allegedly punched in the eye by Blackeyed Peas manager Polo Molina.
Hilton called 911 once returning to his hotel but the police, as they should be, were more concerned with actual emergencies. While waiting for them to show, he wrote the following on his Twitter Page
“I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.” “I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”
Meanwhile, Will.I.Am tells a different story.
He claims the discussion between himself and Hilton was civil on his part and it was a random fan, not manager Molina, who punched Hilton.
He further emphasized this point on his Twitter page. and uploaded a rebuttal video
A few hours after Will.I.Am’s video hit the web, Hilton uploaded one of his own
And so starts the cyber argument between celebs. Admitedly, Will.I.Am’s video is much more believable. It’s short, to the point and mature. Hilton’s is drama packed, complete with fake tears.
It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds! I’ve got one question for Hilton…how old are you, really? I know it’s in your nature to be dramatic but wow!!
