Memorial being held in Edmonton Friday to honour fallen soldiers

EDMONTON – This Friday, the No Stone Left Alone Foundation, a non-profit Alberta organization, will be helping ensure that Canadian soldiers who have died are not forgotten.

A ceremony emceed by our Gord Steinke at Edmonton’s Beechmount Cemetery will start at 10:30 a.m. You can watch it here live.

Students will lay 4,000 poppies at headstones of Canadian soldiers buried there. The same will be done at more than a dozen other cemetery sites around Edmonton.

The project gives young people the chance to learn about Canada’s military past, and honour those who fought and died for our freedom.
