Officer at Medicine Hat Remand Centre facing drug charges

Charges have been laid against an officer at the Medicine Hat remand centre over allegations he delivered drugs to inmates.

Ricki Raymond Fehr, 24, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) investigators found 54 grams of marijuana and $1,000 cash in his possession.

The arrest and charges came after an investigation by The Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, a team made up of Medicine Hat Police Service and RCMP members.

Fehr is scheduled to appear in court on December 3.
