Stephen Nichols joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Tucker McCall in December, 2009. McCall came to Genoa City as the powerful millionaire-tycoon with a secret agenda to take everything from his long-lost mother Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).

Nichols is best known for his part as Patch on "Days of Our Lives," where he earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role and five Soap Opera Digest Best Actor Awards. During his most recent three-year run on "Days," he was consistently voted favorite "Days" actor by the readers of Soap Opera Digest. After that, he played the character of Stefan Cassadine on "General Hospital." Some of his other television appearances include "Crash," "Melrose Place," "She Spies," "Sisters," "The Nanny," "Matlock," "L.A. Law," "Diagnosis Murder," "In The Heat of the Night" and recurring roles on "Empty Nest," "2000 Malibu Road," and "Second Chances," as well as the mini-series "Around the World in 80 Days."

His film credits include "Choices," "Witchboard," "Soapdish," "Heaven’s Tears," "Cover Me," "Phoenix," "The Glass Cage," "Killing Time," "Merchants of Venus," and "A Hard Rain," which earned best film honors at the British Film Festival.

Nichols has been honored with three Drama-logue and two L.A. Weekly Awards for his performances in such notable productions as "Pieces of Time" and "Delirious." Nichols has also appeared in "The Lizard King," "The Cage," "The Shadow Box," "Love Letters," "He Hunts," and "The Dead Boy," for which he received a Maddy Award.

He has directed several stage productions including "Sixty Minutes from L.A." and a presentation pilot for television, "Wild Horses," which he co-directed. He wrote and directed the dramatic short film "Get the Dime," an official selection at the Palm Spring Short Film Festival, Nevada City Film Festival and the Ohio Independent Film Festival.

He recently directed "Birds Do It" at Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, Calif. Nichols has studied acting at the Theater Academy of Los Angeles City College, as well as with Stella Adler, Jack Colvin and Harry Mastrogeorge. He has three children and lives with his wife in Los Angeles
